Smoothing Sounding Pink Noise
Smoothed pink noise can be used for sleeping, relaxing, or studying. Pink noise offers a deep-sounding alternative to white noise, blending higher and lower frequencies. I’ve filtered out higher frequencies in this enhanced version to create a softer, more soothing noise profile than my previous pink noise tracks.
Some listeners of my other pink noise tracks have mentioned that they notice slight fluctuations in volume, even though I haven’t applied any fades throughout the track. This effect is due to the natural randomness of the frequency distribution.
In pink noise, frequencies are more evenly spread across the spectrum, but due to the law of distribution, clusters of frequencies can still group at times. This may give the illusion of volume changes. To minimize this, I’ve adjusted the density of frequencies in this track, creating a smoother and more balanced sound experience.
Pink noise can be used for:
- Helping you relax or fall asleep
- Block out distracting noise while you’re studying
- Calming babies and helping them get off to sleep
- Calming and settling nervous and distressed dogs
- Providing relief for tinnitus
How loud should the volume be?
Adjust the volume to a level you feel comfortable with. It shouldn’t be so loud that it hurts your ears or becomes too distracting.
