Use this when you’re facing a stretch of work that demands everything you’ve got. It’s the most intense session in the series, built to drive a strong, locked-in state of focus for high-pressure or high-output work.

How it works

This session uses isochronic tones, rhythmic pulses of sound layered beneath the music. Your brain naturally starts to sync with a steady rhythm like this, and this track is designed to encourage that.

It plays a different isochronic beat frequency in each ear:

  • A higher range in your right ear, aimed at the side of your brain that handles logic and staying on task
  • A gentler range in your left ear, to help balance out the intensity from the right

The right ear climbs higher here than in the other two sessions in the series. If this one feels like more than you need, Steady Focus for ADHD Brains and Calm Focus for ADHD Brains use the same approach at lower frequency ranges. Because it relies on different tones in each ear, headphones are essential for this one.

How this session is constructed

This track uses a split-hemisphere protocol to drive high cognitive engagement in the left brain, which is primarily responsible for logic and linear tasks.

  • The Cycle: Over each 15-minute cycle, the right ear (left brain) starts at 20Hz, rises to a peak of 28Hz by around the halfway point, holds there for about 3 minutes, then eases back down to 20Hz towards the end of the cycle. The left ear (right brain) moves more gently, between 12Hz and 14Hz, throughout.
  • This rise, hold, and ease-off pattern repeats throughout the track, giving your brain a strong push into focus without staying at peak intensity so long that it causes fatigue.

Headphones are essential

Because this session delivers independent frequencies to each ear, headphones are essential for the split-hemisphere effect to function. Find more info on how the split-hemisphere stimulation works.

How loud to have the volume

The main thing to consider is that it should be loud enough to hear the repetitive isochronic tones. You don’t want it so quiet that you can hardly hear it, but you also don’t want it so loud that it’s uncomfortable, hurts your ears, or gives you a headache. I’d recommend starting with the volume around halfway and adjusting it to a level that you feel comfortable with from there.
