How it works

Focus Flow - Session Frequency Cycle Chart

This is an isochronic tones session (a track that uses evenly spaced pulses of sound to help guide your brainwaves into a steady rhythm) layered under instrumental music.

  • The tones move gently between 12Hz and 14Hz in a smooth, repeating wave.
  • This sits at the lower end of the beta range, which is linked with alertness and focus.
  • Rather than holding at one fixed pitch, the tone rises and falls slowly over each cycle, which helps stop your brain from tuning it out the way it might with a completely steady tone.
  • You can see the shape of one full cycle in the chart above.

Reduces habitation

When you listen to the same frequency for long periods or regularly each day, your brain can become accustomed to the same stimulation. Over time, the benefits you originally felt can start to diminish. With this Focus Flow session, the continuous movement in frequencies helps prevent habituation, allowing you to use this track for longer without your brain getting too accustomed to it.

Who is it for

Good for studying, reading, writing, or any task that requires sustained concentration for longer sessions. It’s built for steady engagement rather than a sharp burst of stimulation, so it suits people who want a background rhythm to help them stay on task.

How to use this

Use this instrumental study music track while you’re studying, reading, or working on a task. Although you don’t need headphones, you may find using them more helpful. Especially if you’re listening in a noisy work or study environment.

How loud should the volume be?

Keep the volume at a comfortable level, clear enough to hear the tones without it ever feeling harsh or distracting.

Headphones aren’t required

Headphones aren’t required, since the tones work through standard speakers, though they can help block out distractions in a noisy space.

About my process

I build every track using isochronic tones combined with music that carries its own amplitude-entrainment effects, both working toward the same goal.

This is based on small-scale research into focus, plus what I’ve learned from thousands of conversations with listeners since I started in 2006. The effects are claimed to be temporary, fading once you stop listening.
