Correct a Brainwave Imbalance Often Found in Those With Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Those who suffer from depression, in particular, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), are often found to have an overabundance of ‘slow wave' activity in the brain.  This slow wave activity is usually in the Theta range of 4Hz to 8Hz.

The ‘Mood Elevator for SAD' track uses Isochronic Tones, to speed up your brainwaves into the higher Beta range of 20Hz.  This will reduce the ‘slow wave' activity and increase the blood flow in your brain, and help to lift your spirits and increase motivation.

The session begins at the 10Hz frequency, then ramps up to 20Hz by the 7-minute mark.  It stays at 20Hz until it reaches 16 minutes, where it gradually guides you back down to 15Hz and stays there to the end.

Note: Laptop speakers are usually too small to produce enough bass to hear the entrainment tones effectively. So for better sound quality and results, we recommend using external speakers or headphones.

Listening Instructions

  • Find a quiet place, free of distraction to sit or lay down
  • Once the session begins, relax and close your eyes.
  • This session can be used with or without headphones.
  • If you are listening in a particularly noisy environment, headphones are recommended.

  • Headphones are not required, but using them will often result in a deeper entrainment experience.  Any headphones will do, as you don't need anything top of the range.  Either the small ‘in-ear' earphones or the bigger ‘over ear' headphones are fine.
  • External speakers – If you are listening on a laptop, you will probably find that the speakers are very small, which means it'll probably be hard to hear the Isochronic Tones effectively.  So I recommend plugging in some external speakers for laptops.
