How it works
This session uses isochronic tones, rhythmic pulses of sound layered beneath the music. Your brain naturally starts to sync with a steady rhythm like this, and this track is designed to encourage that.
It plays a different isochronic beat frequency in each ear:
- A slightly higher range in your right ear, aimed at the side of your brain that handles logic and staying on task
- A gentler range in your left ear.
If you find this one works well and want a bit more push, Steady Focus for ADHD Brains uses the same approach at a slightly higher frequency range.
The two move together in a slow, repeating cycle, so the effect builds gradually rather than spiking. Because it relies on different tones in each ear, headphones are essential for this one.

How this session is constructed
This track uses a split-hemisphere protocol to encourage steady cognitive engagement in the left brain, which is primarily responsible for logic and linear tasks.
- The Cycle: Over each 15-minute cycle, the Right ear (Left brain) moves between 13Hz and 17Hz, while the Left ear (Right brain) moves between 10Hz and 13Hz.
- This gentle rise and fall repeats throughout the track, giving your brain a steady rhythm to lock onto without the intensity spiking too high.
Headphones are essential

How loud to have the volume
The main thing to consider is that it should be loud enough to hear the repetitive isochronic tones. You don’t want it so quiet that you can hardly hear it, but you also don’t want it so loud that it’s uncomfortable, hurts your ears, or gives you a headache. I’d recommend starting with the volume around halfway and adjusting it to a level that you feel comfortable with from there.
